The National Guitar Workshop is dedicated to bring the best in music education to guitarists, bassists, keyboardists, drummers, and vocalists of all styles and abilities. We offer three program choices: Core, Seminar, and Summit. Choose Your Way To Learn!

The Performance Program is perfect for players of all levels who have a wide variety of interests. In the Performance Program, students concentrate in Rock, Blues, Jazz, Acoustic, Classical or Songwriting. There are courses for guitar, bass, keyboard, and drums. Students receive hands-on instruction in their concentration, strengthening their skills while learning songs. In addition, students learn how to play with a rhythm section and also prepare to play on stage in concert. The Performance Curriculum also focuses on musicianship skills, including theory, ear training, and improvisation. Students also attend daily clinics in a variety of special interests, broadening their exposure to additional concepts. To insure that students find the perfect class level, they are assessed on the first day by the faculty in their chosen concentration. Students are then placed in the appropriate class level based on ability, age, stylistic interest, and goals for the week.

The Seminar Program is designed to focus on one specific subject, style, and/or artist. Students spend each day intensely exploring and examining all aspects of their chosen topic. Advanced techniques, historical discoveries, master artists, analysis, and repertoire development are all included throughout the week. Some Seminars include an ensemble component and all Seminar students have additional opportunities to perform throughout the week. Seminars are perfect for intermediate and advanced players who have a definitive concept of their musical journey.

The Summit Program is designed for intermediate and advanced players who want to immerse themselves in Rock, Jazz, Blues, Classical, Jam, Funk, or Songwriting. Students choose classes that focus on specific topics within the genre, apply advanced techniques to repertoire, and work to master their instrument. Opportunities during the week may include studying with a variety of teachers, as well as working with ensembles and/or jam sessions with a rhythm section. Master Guest Artists are involved in clinics during the program. All Summit students have additional opportunities to perform throughout the week.
